You are invited to join at 7pm on September 10 at the Hoosier Air Museum for this presentation that will tell the story of one of the most unique remains return ceremonies ever conducted by the United States Air Force!

Maj. Russell C. Goodman was shot down and killed in action while on a bombing mission in an F4B Phantom II over Vinh, North Viet Nam in 1967.

Maj. Goodman is the only Thunderbird Pilot ever to be shot down in combat while assigned to the USAF Thunderbird Demonstration Team.

He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for Gallantry in Action for directly saving the lives of 2 downed airmen one week before he himself was shot down. Maj. Goodman’s remains were finally recovered over the course of 3 excavation missions spanning from 1987 to 2008, identified and repatriated in January 2010.
