The museum has the greatest and most extensive collection of Auburn Cord and Duesenberg automobile in the world. Experience the passion from this great era as you step back through time. Walk the same hallways as the automotive giants of yesterday, and you get the impression of what a day at the Auburn Automobile Company must have been like in the early 1930’s.

Hours: Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last admission one hour before closing.

DeKalb County History Museum

The focus of the DeKalb County History Museum is from the earliest inhabitants after the ice age through the formation of the county in 1837 into the modern era. Exhibits highlight pre-historic artifacts, early schools and libraries, clubs and organizations, businesses, plus urban and rural home life.

Hours: Friday & Saturday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., May through September. Groups by Appointment.

By paying regular admission at the first museum you attend, marked discounts are available at all other museums listed in the Passport. Ask for the Passport when attending our museums.

Garrett Historical Railroad Museum

The Garrett Railroad Museum is the former Baltimore & Ohio railroad freight station. Located along side the CSX railroad tracks, the station has been restored to reflect a typical rural railroad station of the early 1900’s. Here you will find displayed many relics, curios, photographs, and railroad items that tell the story of Garrett’s rich history. The basement of the museum houses an HO scale model railroad layout. Outside is an actual railroad post office car and a Chesapeake & Ohio caboose.

Hours: Open Memorial Day through September on Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tours by appointment.

Hoosier Air Museum

The Hoosier Air Museum is a showcase for historical aircraft and various types of aviation memorabilia. Committed to preserving the history of military aviation, the museum provides a facility where visitors can view historic aircraft and learn about the people who designed, built, flew and maintained them. Vintage and military aircraft include two WWI French Nieuport fighters and a Cobra Helicopter.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wed. – Sun.  Closed December 15 to March 15.

Kruse Automotive & Carriage Museum

The Kruse Automotive & Carriage Museum features a variety of vehicles to entertain the whole family and is also home to the International Monster Truck Museum & Hall of Fame, and the Northeastern Indiana Racing Museum. All under one roof you can enjoy the classic cars, beautifully detailed custom cars and feel the adrenaline rush you'll get from looking at the aerodynamic lines of an Indy race car. Admire the workmanship and ingenuity of antique carriages and get a close-up look at cars from your favorite television episodes and movies. Finally, you can view one of the world’s finest collections of custom hot rods, built by Carl Casper. Paid admission to the Kruse Automotive & Carriage Museum also covers admission to the National Military History Center.

The National Auto and Truck Museum is housed in the former factory building of the Auburn Automobile Company. The museums emphasis is on post World War II cars, muscle cars, trucks and vehicles from 1908 “high wheelers” to current production pickups. Tour the International Gallery of Trucks and engines, plus a model car/truck and toy collection.

The History Center offers a compelling “living” history, alive with the sights, sounds, and equipment that have defined America’s military encounters through the American Revolution to our present day. The museum complex spotlights a variety of galleries for all to enjoy, 60+ military vehicles, uniforms, weapons and artifacts. Paid admission to the National Military History Center also covers admission the Kruse Automotive & Carriage Museum.

Early Ford V-8 Museum

Dedicated on September 1, 2009

This new addition to automotive history houses artifacts, memorabilia, technical displays, literature and some of the vehicles that honor the Ford Motor Company and its influence on automotive and American history during the years 1932-1953. The new museum has 8,000 sq. ft. of display area providing a rich educational experience to those who remember the vehicles of pre WWII and those who want to know more about them.
